Raw Vegan Week 6

Saturday, October 25th, 2008

I’ve been fighting a bug for a few days and lost my voice last night, so this is a little gravely sounding.

My diet is going well and I am working out A LOT. Still doing about two hours of bagua a day plus lifting weights with Steve. I’ve been tracking my net calorie expenditure with Fit.

United Lemur Announces $30,000 Puzzllotto Prize

Monday, October 20th, 2008

The prize for Puzzllotto has been announced - up to $30,000! UL is going to be huge, plus this will do a hell of a lot for Madagascar. Seriously great work, guys.

Puzzllotto Sneak Peek

Sunday, October 19th, 2008

I was fortunate enough to obtain an early release demo of Puzzllotto, an outstanding game coming soon from United Lemur, the eco-friendly iPhone software development company helmed by Mike Lee.

The game is inspired by titles such as Myst and Zork, but it also reminded me very strongly of a much cuter take on games like The Seventh Guest and Samorost.

The jungle contains beautiful and friendly creatures, as well as the rapacious and terrifying fossa!

Part of a much bigger picture

Although this is an extremely enjoyable game to play, there is a lot more going on here than simple entertainment: 10% of the revenue Puzzllotto generates from the iPhone App Store will be donated to the Madagascar Fauna Group. As if this weren’t enough, Puzzllotto is the first title released as a part of Mike’s Fundware initiative, a referral system intended to help introduce high quality iPhone software created by obscure or unknown developers to the market.

I’m excited by what Mike and United Lemur have done - Mike has a demonstrated track record of achieving great things through highly unconventional means. United Lemur, Puzzllotto, and Fundware are going to change what people believe is possible in the software industry.

Raw Vegan Week 5

Saturday, October 18th, 2008

Week 5 on raw food only: 16+ pounds of fat lost, 6 pounds of muscle gained.

I started attending bagua classes again! Great to be back!

Very special thanks to my friends Mike Lee and Joe Heck for providing the inspiration for the current set of Aria Touch updates. You guys rock.

If you haven’t checked out Mike’s new company/industrial & environmental revolution, United Lemur, you definitely should.

Edit: I just watched the Raw Vegan Week 1 video again. Okay, I am definitely losing weight. Ouch.

Raw Vegan, Week 4

Saturday, October 11th, 2008

Latest diet update, plus some bagua talk. Some thoughts on getting things through the app store and a little bit about Aria Touch and Fit.

Here’s a picture of my teacher, Andy Dale, doing dragon dives into the sea, around 1987.
